So my latest project… How could I give this opportunity a miss? I’d been looking at selling some things and getting myself an S15 but when I saw this come up for sale I had to get it! A 1994 Mazda RX-7 with a Nissan SR20DET engine already transplanted inside! Significantly cheaper than an S15 , the same engine and a much cooler shell. Hell yeah. Building it up this way meant I could put money into it over time which meant it was a much better option than buying an S15 too.
An SR20? Blasphemy! Well, say what you want but I didn’t start the process so you can’t blame me for removal of the rotary. Will I put one back in? Hell no. Well, maybe one day but it’s not likely… Hate all you want, it’ll only make my desire to finish it and even then further improve it more.
This had been sitting for at least 5 years with the engine transplant work done and literally nothing else. A massive gamble but if I can finish this off it will be well worth the effort, time and money. Rather than let a poor RX7 rot away I decided to give it a new lease of life and try to get this back on the roads again.
First job was to rummage through the various tubs of spares and random parts to work out what I had, what I needed and what the hell I was going to do with this thing!
Then gave it a quick scrub to get some of the mould off and then into the corner it goes where it will start to be poked and prodded!
Stay tuned for many updates…
